COMMENTS:

Darryl says: He’s feeling Mr. Sipp’s new single called “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore” on Outlaw Records. (This is causing Tori to want to hear some Rose Royce, or just the whole Carwash soundrack…)

Cecily says: She’s still playing Munyango Jackson’s “Baby It’s Cold Outside” because around here it really is cold outside. She’s trying to get me to agree to Ed Sheeran’s song featuring Beyonce and telling me that the song has reached number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 and digital sales chart and how some haters are not wanting to give Bey credit – but since this cat apparently ain’t never had a number one song before…

Tori says: The very gifted Rick Hall passed away this morning so we put together an afternoon of “Rick’s Radio”. To those of you who didn’t already know, Rick produced Aretha Franklin’s first hits, including “I’ve Never Loved A man” and “Do Right Woman” and was part of the catalyst for her becoming “Queen of Soul”. He worked with an impressive array of artists like the Staple Singers, Wicked Wilson Pickett, Candi Staton, Etta James, Arthur Alexander, Clarence Carter… Rick mentioned my dad in his book because Pops was the one who introduced him to the legendary Jimmy Hughes, resulting in the release of the hit song “Steal Away”. Life is way shorter than we think. Hug a loved one as soon as you can. We’re wishing a blessed and peaceful New Year to all. Love, Tori
