COMMENTS:

Darrly says: He didn’t remember Gregg A. Smith’s “Don’t Cry No More” til I played both Denise LaSalle and Bobby Bland’s versions. Gregg’s song is his pick to add this week. Darryl is having visions of dressing and gravy. (Tori’s looking forward to spending quality time with my family!) Darryl also says his buddy’s Jumpin’ Gene Anderson is back with the song “How You Like Me Now”. (Tori likes it too.)

Cecily says: she likes Daniel Caesar song “Blessed” and Lupe Fiasco’s song is also kinda cool. She can’t wait til Thanksgiving.

Tori says: We had our 24th annual NAACP Freedom Banquet last night. Our speaker for the occasion was the Honorable Herman N. “Rusty” Johnson, the first Black U.S. Magistrate Judge for the northern district of Alabama. He took us all to school with an informative history of the concepts of “freedom” and “status” and inspired me to sit there taking notes. We had a good turn-out, including mayors, city council members, and county sheriffs sitting right along-side the people they are pledged to serve and represent. We gave annual presentations to our Freedom Banquet honorees, all of whom made very nice acceptance speeches. Keep up the fight. Love and peace to all of ya’ll. Tori
